Attendance Matters!

We are looking forward to welcoming pupils back to school this week.
All children should be aiming for 100% attendance throughout the year and should be on time to start the school day. If your child will not be attending school due to illness please call the school voicemail on 01530 260 301 before 8:30am to report their absence, giving their name, year group and a briefing description of why they are absent.
Routine doctors and dentist appointments should be made outside of school time. We understand that this is not always possible and pupils may be absent for a morning or afternoon. In these instances we would require a copy of the appointment either via email or paper copy, this will be documented against the pupils records.
Ellistown Primary school monitor attendance and punctuality every four weeks. A letter will be sent informing parents when a child’s attendance falls below 96%. Our pupil and family support workers will work closely with families who are persistently late and absent from school. When all of these expectations are in place it gives all our children the best chance of reaching their full potential.
